Krista English - Santa Barbara, California
Krista has homeschooled her two boys for the last 10 years with the exception of 6 months when she was battling AML leukemia. Surviving leukemia twice and the complications from a bone marrow transplant which included complete organ failure and an induced coma to save her life, her faith grew even more as she experienced many miracles through that time of suffering. Naturally, it allowed her to gain the needed perspective to live a meaningful life every day.
Getting certified in LearningSuccess™ coaching has given her more opportunities to help other children and adults awaken to their true calling and destiny. Nothing pleases her more than to see the light turn on again in a young person after discouragement has set in about their abilities. She loves showing kids and their parents, not whether they ARE intelligent or not, but HOW they are intelligent. To know this from an early age and to learn in a manner that fits their unique learning style and allows them the freedom to pursue their interests makes for an ideal educational experience, and she loves meeting with families to encourage them in this manner to avoid ever getting labeled with a learning "disability." When asked if she specializes in learning disabilities, she says, "No. I specialize in removing those labels whenever possible."
Trained in LearningSuccess™ principles as a Level 3 coach and utilizing the unique LearningSuccess profile, Krista help kids and adults achieve their vision for success by linking their education to their purpose. She offers:
- 1-time learning style consultations and brainstorming strategies sessions
- monthly coaching and an independent study program
- communication, financial and other life skills coaching
- college and career planning
- workshops and speaking to groups
Testimonials:
"Thank you so much for this and for all the time you've spent helping me. I feel so excited about the school year, thanks to you. We’ve already done about 4 of the science wiz labs. Sooo fun. They are really having fun with it. I have been telling so many people how you've helped me and they seem really interested. Hope you hear from some of them soon." -- New homeschooling mother of 3 kids, ages 11, 8 and 5 (Ventura, CA)
"Thank you so much for coming to us to give us insight and encouragement for our journey in homeschooling! What a blessing to have you as a resource. The Lord has already used the wisdom He's given you in my life! I appreciate your time so much!" – New homeschooling mother of 2, ages 8 and 5, (Carpinteria, CA)
"Thank you for helping us through communication struggles between brothers using the No-Fault Zone game. After using the cards, my 8-yr-old had no trouble expressing his feelings, and knew EXACTLY what he needed without hesitation. He and my 11-yr-old role-played with the "Choices" cards about how to solve their problems. After hearing and believing each other, their feelings went from "sad" and "confused" to "cheerful" immediately and were able to go from Cold on the temperature chart to Calm. By the end they were both whooping and hollering and switched cards again. They both chose the Need card "play/fun" and wanted to play the No-Fault Zone game again! I suggested they play Legos, but the older boy asked if there was a "Hungry" card so we printed "hungry" on a blank card and they went outside with some food and played together gleefully!!!" -- Veteran homeschooling mother of 4, ages 16, 14, 11 and 8 (Goleta, CA)
