Learning-Success™
Model of Education Transforms
"Average" Students
Ventura,
CA (11/05/01)...America's Learning-Success™
Coaches Mariaemma Willis, M.S. and Victoria
Kindle Hodson, M.A., explain why there is no
such thing as "average," in their book, Discover
Your Childs Learning Style.
In
spite of our schools best intentions,
the intellectual development of many of our
children is being unfairly short-circuited in
our one-size-fits-all classrooms. Students who
are labeled "average" or even "below average"
have incredible gifts and talents that are not
acknowledged and encouraged. These students
grow up never knowing how smart they really
are and become adults who think they can't accomplish
much.
Hodson
and Willis offer these suggestions:
Identify your children's learning styles
Respect your children's readiness for learning
Acknowledge your children's natural gifts and
abilities
Treat your children as partners in the learning
process
Encourage your children to explore their life
missions
The
Learning-Success™ Model searches for ways
that children learn differently and coaches
all children to Learning-Success™.
